Le Zeppo and Legit present the first music video from their highly anticipated collaboration album, “Basement Therapy.” The song “Peep The Throne” gets a second drop with a major 90’s vibe overhaul, as the Canadian heavyweight lyricists let us hear the “OG Mix” produced by Toronto resident and Colombian national Lay Low. Lay Low’s “OG Mix” is an instant time warp, pulling the listener back through the anchors of time, back to those good old days when the music had some real bop, real soul, back when even the grimiest street anthems still made you want to dance.
This song and video are an instant reminder of how great the music was in the 90s. For the task of creating a video with this type of nostalgic 90’s feel, Le Zeppo and Legit enlisted the help of friend and collaborator Relz. Filmed and edited with the intention of ignoring today’s common music-video trends, the team focused on striving to create a piece of visual art that works as a time capsule. The results are stunning, Equal parts timeless and memory-evoking.

The video focuses on utilizing existing colour schemes and lighting found naturally in the street. Stabilized tripod shots and semi-shaky handheld shots are intentionally meant to recreate the same feeling of watching independent music videos from this classic era of Hip-Hop.
The emcees deliver the rest with a confident and defining on-camera performance, and lyrics, flows, and vocal presence that leave little doubt as to why these two are considered amongst today’s top emcees. DJ Uncle Fester once again reminds us why he is the premier scratch chorus DJ of choice for the Canadian underground.
