Jazz Akrobatiks Bring Jazz-Rich Boom Bap To Debut Single ‘Bubblin'”
There is something immediately familiar about “Bubblin,'” but not because Jazz Akrobatiks are interested in recreating another era. The familiarity comes from four names that understand exactly what makes jazz-infused Hip-Hop work: Awon, Beneficence, Doodlebug of Digable Planets, and Jazz Spastiks.
Together, they form Jazz Akrobatiks, a new collective built around warm samples, dusty drums, and emceeing that values craft over spectacle. Their debut single, “Bubblin’,” gives that combination its first proper introduction.
Jazz Spastiks provide a smooth, head-nodding foundation that leaves plenty of room for Awon, Beneficence, and Doodlebug to work. Instead of competing for space, the three emcees trade verses with the comfort of artists who understand pocket, timing, and personality. Each brings a different texture to the record while remaining connected to its laid-back jazz atmosphere.

That chemistry is what makes “Bubblin’” more than a collection of recognizable names. Jazz Akrobatiks sound like a group, and there is a naturalness to the collaboration that suggests these four pieces belong together.
For longtime listeners, Doodlebug’s presence creates an obvious connection to the jazz-minded lineage of Digable Planets, while Awon and Beneficence bring their own established underground sensibilities. Jazz Spastiks tie everything together with production rooted firmly in the dusty, sample-driven tradition that has defined much of their work.
The physical release makes that connection to Hip-Hop culture even stronger. “Bubblin’” is available as a limited 7-inch vinyl release through Ill Adrenaline Records, with the instrumental appearing alongside the vocal version. A limited blue-vinyl HHV edition was also pressed at just 100 copies.
“Bubblin'” doesn’t need to chase what is happening around it. Jazz Akrobatiks have enough history, skill, and musical identity between them to establish their own lane. If this debut is the beginning of something larger, Jazz Akrobatiks have given listeners a strong reason to stay tuned.
