Darren Waller Drops New EP 'Internal Warfare: This Too Shall Pass'

Former NFL star and musician Darren Waller has released his latest 4-song EP, Internal Warfare: This Too Shall Pass. The project reflects Waller’s journey through a year of significant personal transformation, offering an emotional and reflective look at its highs and lows. The EP features production from PALE1080, KXVI and sadcg.

“The title of this project accurately depicts what 2024 has been like for me,” describes Waller. Lots of change has brought about all kinds of thoughts, emotions, and mood swings that have been overwhelming at times. At the same time, those have made room for greater clarity, allowing me to see all the good in my life and to know I’m right where I’m supposed to be. The inner tribulations of this past year provided the friction I needed to sharpen my sword when it comes to my craft and my relationship with myself, and I’m excited to share these songs with the world.” The current single “Internal Warfare” highlights the duality of Waller’s personality. “When I first heard the beat, I knew that I wanted to do something that shed light on the different versions of myself that often clash internally: one that is reflective, thoughtful, and introspective and the other one that is competitive, aggressive, and has something to prove,” explains Waller. “The beat switches provide space for me to flow in and out of both energies, ultimately ending with the more introspective side having the last say. As I learn to find balance within myself, I’m realizing that neither side is good or bad; they are a part of who I am and I accept them both.”

Additionally, a new music video for the EP track “This Too Shall Pass,” is available HERE. Directed by ARod2Up, the video features Waller performing uplifting lyrics at a Philadelphia church, offering inspiration to those facing their own challenges. This song holds deep meaning for Waller, as it reflects his personal journey through addiction and mental health struggles.

Waller’s previous EP release, On Notice: Bag Talk, features 4 songs that highlight his lyrical versatility. The songs explore themes, such as his intense competitive spirit in “Bag Talk,” moments of self-reflection in “Day In The Life,” sources of motivation in “On Notice,” and his strong faith in “Summer On Fremont.”

This marks Darren Waller’s third EP release this year, showcasing his commitment to his music career. Each project showcases his growth as an artist, blending personal themes with raw authenticity.
