MCskill ThaPreacha and Teck-Zilla connect for this ‘Nucleus Vol. 1’ EP.
Nigerian rapper MCskill ThaPreacha teams up with Str8Buttah producer/DJ Teck-Zilla on the first part of the NUCLEUS series, a 4-track EP which has MCskill rhyming over vintage hip-hop beats.
The 4 track EP starts with “Positive Energy†where MCskill flexes his lyrical muscle over a soul-tinged boombap beat that helps open up the project. The second track “Fantasy rap†has a more solemn feel but MCskill goes for a more out the box topic as he delivers outlandish verbal illustrations. On “From the ground up†the duo go back to the boombap essence with a dark flute-like sample and hard hitting drums plus an energetic MOP sample.
The final track “Dreams†closes up the project on a positive note as MCskill urges the listeners to go out and work for his or her dream regardless of the obstacles they might face.
NUCLEUS Vol. 1 is quite short but it’s definitely worth the listen as MCskill ThaPreacha comes through with engaging concepts over Teck-Zilla’s solid production.
