Apollo Brown and Skyzoo continue building toward their forthcoming Luxury Tax album with ‘Hear Me Out,‘ a new single and video that finds Skyzoo looking backward without losing sight of how far he has traveled.
Produced by Apollo Brown, “Hear Me Out” carries the kind of grit that immediately puts Skyzoo in storytelling mode. The Brooklyn MC responds with dense bars rooted in New York—the neighborhood, the corner store, survival, and the ambition to eventually make it beyond the blocks that helped shape him.

Skyzoo explains the record’s inspiration:
“With ‘Hear Me Out,’ when I first heard the beat, it sounded like something out of New York in the mid 80’s, a time of learning how to survive on the fly. It felt gritty and nostalgic while still being 2026.”
That balance is important. “Hear Me Out” isn’t an attempt to recreate another era simply for nostalgia’s sake. Apollo Brown draws from the feeling of that period while giving Skyzoo enough space to connect those memories to the present.
And Skyzoo does what Skyzoo does—he fills that space with bars.
Underneath the lyricism, however, is a bigger idea.
Skyzoo describes “Hear Me Out” as a “bar fest, but with a message,” figuratively speaking to the corner store and everything surrounding it. His message is that making it out doesn’t mean abandoning where he came from. Success can become a way of representing those places—and making them proud.
That distinction gives the record weight.
For Skyzoo, the neighborhood isn’t merely scenery. Throughout his career, Brooklyn has functioned almost like another character in his writing. The streets, bodegas, buildings, and people become pieces of larger stories about ambition, survival, opportunity, and memory.

“Hear Me Out” follows the previously released “God Given” and ‘No Discounts’ as Apollo Brown and Skyzoo continue rolling out their second full-length collaborative album, Luxury Tax. The 14-track project is scheduled to arrive September 25, 2026, a decade after their acclaimed 2016 collaboration The Easy Truth.
