Devine Carama Waxes Poetic Over a Wu-Tang Sample In New Music Video For ‘Years To Build’

Devine Carama & Amadeus360 - Years To Build

Emmy-winning rapper Devine Carama and producer Amadeus360 released their new collaborative album Guardians of the Boom Bap today (6/13/2025). Available on all major digital streaming platforms via Soulspazm, the album serves as an ode to Hip-Hop’s “Golden Era”. Album standout “Years To Build” borrows from two quintessential songs from this roughly decade-long period: Raekwon‘s “Ice Cream” and Eric B & Rakim‘s “Eric B. Is President”. The two samples compliment Devine’s lyrical expression of the blood, sweat, and tears poured into his artistry, and the challenges faced along the way. This morning, the song’s NYJtheOfficial-directed music video debuted.

This one I had a lot of fun creating. This is a track I made to feature the struggle both Devine and I had coming up in this game. The scratch hook alone says it all. Again, Devine delivers impeccable lyricism over a Wu-Tang type sample.” – Amadeus360

Guardians of the Boom Bap follows Amadeus360’s The MPC Jedi (2023) and Devine’s Kingtucky 4 (2024). “We want listeners to get that same feeling they got listening to hip-hop in the 90’s”, Carama explains. “Just beats, rhymes, and life.”
