Kydd Jones Live Performance of “King” At SXSW

Kydd Jones is determined to set 2025 ablaze and gets an assist from the iconic music festival SXSW in his hometown of Austin, Texas with a live performance from his set for local radio station 91.7 KOOP FM. Jones’s timeless performance of his introspective Hip-Hop track “King” over a production from Black Pumas guitarist Adrian Quesada was recently released by SXSW on their official YouTube channel. In the song, Kydd mentions the effects of the pandemic (“used to carry a nine, now I keep a mask and lysol”) and of the injustices Black Americans go through (“Breonna Taylor tears, I ain’t cried in years”) in a peek of what he’s got in store in this pivotal year for his career.

Kydd Jones is a singer-songwriter/producer/emcee born and raised in Austin, Texas who has performed at festivals like the Billboard Hot 100 Fest, Austin City Limits Music Festival, the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival and more. Jones has worked with artists such as Gary Clark Jr (Warner Brothers), Yelawolf (Shady/Aftermath), Kirko Bangz (300 Entertainment), Felly (Sony Entertainment/Warner Brothers), Quin NFN (Empire), Eric Dingus (OVO Sound) and Max Frost (Atlantic).
