Otis Clapp – Demons Into Diamonds

Otis Clapp turns ‘Demons Into Diamonds’ in his latest visual.

Making its debut at the NYC Independent Film Festival on May 4th, the Ryan Windess-directed visuals for Otis Clapp‘s triumphant return track “Demons Into Diamonds” makes its world premiere online today via HipHopDX. The song is the first track from the rapper’s brand new Helen Keller EP, inspired by the famed author and political activist of the same name. The video stars Newark native Anthony Hawkins, Alison McManus, Wayne Norman of The Bronx, and Otis Clapp himself.
“As someone who’s been training in the art of boxing for over 7 years, the Rocky intro set the tone for the song’s inspiring and powerful message. Otis’ words followed and began to inspire and develop a music video narrative about a young man’s struggles at home and how he uses boxing to overcome; his ‘demons into diamonds’ transformation. Being friends with Otis, he allowed me to have creative control of the project. I then storyboarded, rallied up the troops, shot, edited and made the deadline for submissions to the NYC Independent Film Festival. They officially selected and it made it’s debut at Hell’s Kitchen following a killer live performance by the rapper himself.” – Ryan Windess
