He taught me what it means to move with discipline, to stay solid, and to believe in yourself when no one else does… Sketch comedian Ken Starrz came up to me at a Giants game one day to tell me how much he loved my music, but he called me ‘Mr. G’. It’s a common mistake that DJs and even Alexa still make. We laughed it off, but my boy Wid overheard this and immediately said ‘Yo, that’s the album title right there!’ That title fits because this album is all about me stepping into my moment fully suited up, carrying everything my father gave me, all while claiming my own identity. ‘Gladiator’ was our favorite movie growing up, and when I put that jersey on, it feels like Maximus’ son Lucious stepping into his late father’s body armor in the ‘Gladiator’ sequel.
