In 2019, Phonte linked up with KAYTRANADA, Devin Morrison, among other West Coast collaborators for his soulful Pacific Time EP. The maestro of raps and melodies surprised fans on Monday (8/5/2024) when he took to social media to announce the sequel to the 2019 project. Yesterday, “Pacific Time 2″ released on all major digital streaming platforms via +FE Music. This time around, The Foreign Exchange frontman sings and raps over soulful soundscapes by West Coast producers Focus…, Trackademicks, Foolie $urfin, and AbJo across four tracks. +FE Music affiliates Carlitta Durand and Carmen Rodgers also join for vocal support.

“I dropped the first Pacific Time EP in
2019. I really liked the idea of working with my friends on the west coast to
craft these mini worlds. It gives me room to experiment and push myself even
further. I had a lot of fun making this one and I hope it brings people joy.” – Phonte

The limited edition 180g black vinyl, orange vinyl, and signed test press of the EP sold out overnight via Pourhouse Pressing.

Phonte and Nicolay teamed up to release Connected, their groundbreaking debut as The Foreign Exchange,  on August 24, 2004.  Over the course of 20 years, they’ve grown from internet duo, to Grammy-nominated group/collective, to renowned record label and indie artist incubator.
