Consistency has been one of the hallmarks of Five Steez. For over a decade, starting in 2010, the Kingston MC has had frequent appearances and releases of music and content. While he hasn’t been completely absent or quiet in recent times, he has had a subdued presence.
Five Steez is now back – this time with producer Chosen One – for a new EP aptly titled Re:Emergence. When asked about the name, Steez says it felt like the right theme for the current stage in his journey.
“I found myself in a different season of life,” admits Five Steez. “I had to shift my energy towards other things. Now, going forward, I’m going to be doing more than I’ve been doing over the past few years.” He says this new EP is the start of a gradual return.

Listeners can now enjoy Re:Emergence, a 7-track EP led by the hard-hitting singles Keep It Blazing and Strait Darts. Steez delivers his usual braggadocio on the singles and songs like Blocka and Show and Prove, but reflects deeply on Current Dayz, Live and Learn, and Anything is Possible.
“I enjoyed working on Re:Emergence,” says Chosen One, who produced, mixed and mastered the entire project. He says the EP was a long time in the making. “We initially connected through Soundcloud over 10 years ago, and then in person when I visited Jamaica and linked up with Steez and The Council. I’ve already done a project called The Extreme Path with fellow Council member Nomad Carlos. So, I had to get one done with Steez as well.”
Re:Emergence is now available for purchase and streaming on all music platforms, including Five Steez’s Bandcamp page. Fans are encouraged to follow Five Steez on his social media platforms and look out for the content to come.
