ACT-1 and ThisIsHipHopp Bring Summer Swagger on “Yasmina”
Not every summer record has to chase the latest trend. Some songs simply show up with confidence, personality, and enough bounce to remind listeners why Hip-Hop has always thrived on charisma. That’s exactly what ACT-1 and Canadian producer ThisIsHipHopp accomplish on their new collaboration, “Yasmina.”
Built around a lively, head-nodding instrumental, “Yasmina” captures the carefree spirit of warm-weather Hip-Hop while embracing the swagger that made the early 2000s such a memorable era. The production instantly recalls the energy that once dominated New York streets, with echoes of Dipset’s colorful sound without feeling like a direct imitation. Instead, ThisIsHipHopp modernizes that influence, creating a beat that feels nostalgic while remaining fresh enough for today’s underground scene.
ACT-1 wastes no time settling into the pocket. His performance is packed with confidence, humorous punchlines, and braggadocious lyricism that never takes itself too seriously. Rather than relying on aggression alone, he balances slick wordplay with an effortless personality that makes each verse entertaining from beginning to end.

The chemistry between producer and emcee is one of the record’s biggest strengths. ThisIsHipHopp leaves enough space in the instrumental for ACT-1’s cadence to breathe while layering vibrant drums, infectious melodies, and crisp percussion that practically demand repeat listens. The result is a track that feels equally comfortable blasting through car speakers, backyard cookouts, or summer playlists.
While much of today’s Hip-Hop landscape often leans toward darker moods or melodic minimalism, “Yasmina” reminds listeners that fun has always been an important part of the culture. The record embraces confidence without becoming overly serious, allowing its playful attitude to become one of its greatest assets.
ThisIsHipHopp continues expanding an impressive catalog of collaborations with respected lyricists across the underground Hip-Hop community, bringing his signature blend of soulful samples, hard-hitting drums, and classic Hip-Hop sensibilities to each release. “Yasmina” demonstrates his versatility by shifting into a brighter, more celebratory sound while maintaining the authenticity that has helped establish his growing reputation.
For ACT-1, the single serves as another showcase of his ability to entertain through personality as much as technical skill. His confident delivery, witty bars, and undeniable presence make “Yasmina” feel like a record designed to be enjoyed rather than overanalyzed.
In an era where many artists chase algorithms, ACT-1 and ThisIsHipHopp simply deliver a record that feels good. Sometimes that’s exactly what Hip-Hop needs.
“Yasmina” is available now on digital streaming platforms.
