Privacy Policy

Updated: August 18, 2025

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under privacy laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

Comments

When visitors leave comments on our site, we collect the information provided in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam.

An anonymized string (hash) created from your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you use it. The Gravatar privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture will be visible to the public alongside your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, avoid uploading images that include embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the site can download and extract location data from these images.

Cookies

We use cookies to improve your experience:
Comment Cookies – Stores your name, email, and website for convenience when posting future comments (1-year duration).
Login Cookies – Temporary cookie to check browser cookie support (deleted when browser closes). Login cookies store login info for 2 days, or 2 weeks if “Remember Me” is selected. Logging out removes them.
Display Preferences Cookies – Stores your screen settings for 1 year.
Editor Cookies – Records the post ID of edited content (expires after 1 day).

You can adjust your browser settings to refuse cookies, but some site functions may not work properly.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles may include embedded content (videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if you visited those websites directly.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional tracking, and monitor your interaction with their content, including if you are logged in to their platform.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email. Visitor comments may also be checked through automated spam detection services.

How Long We Retain Your Data

Comments – Stored indefinitely to recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically.
Registered Users – Personal data provided in user profiles is stored as long as the account remains active. Users may update or delete their information (except usernames). Site administrators may also view and edit this data.
