Freddie Black and Ras Beats give us this new body of work called “Black Beats, Peyote Cookies And Late Nights.”
Rhode Island’s own Freddie Black and New York’s Ras Beats come together for this new album titled “Black Beats, Peyote Cookies And Late Nights.” The two began putting the album together just before the pandemic hit, and have now released it for the world to enjoy.
The title of the album, “Black Beats, Peyote Cookies And Late Nights” tells you all you need to know about the album. However, I must say I learned something about the title myself. I had no idea what “peyote cookies” was until looked it up before the interview we had with the two of them. The remainder of the titled is self-explanatory. Black Beats respresents the entities who worked together to put this great Hip-Hop album together. And then you have the “late nights” part of the album, which the two worked arduously to get this done.
Freddie Black really talked his shit and represented Rhode Island very well. I believe people enjoy what Freddie Black has to offer Hip-Hop. He gives us the real throughout the album. His rhymes appear to be authentic, and not contrived. Ras Beats does an outstanding job with the production on “Black Beats, Peyote Cookies And Late Night.” He incorporated the proper amount of scratches that gives that authentic golden-age feel to the album.
